I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.

Philippians 1:3-5

The church of Philippi was a generous church. They were faithful givers to support Paul for his mission work.

When I say partnering I do not mean to be equal with God, it is about owning the ministry He entrusted us, it is about taking the responsibility to deliver what must be delivered from us.

Philippian Church included their support of prayer, people, resources, and finances to apostle Paul making them one of the first sending churches of the early centuries. They just seemed to understand the importance of spreading the Gospel of Christ.

There are a lot of forms of giving unto the Lord, you can give your:

  • Faith
  • Love
  • Hard Work
  • Commitment
  • Time
  • Etc.

But what I want to share to you now is the giving of finances to God to partner with Him in the ministry. I also want to say thank you that God has used you to give to Him, there are lives changed because of your giving.

By giving we are able to cope the responsibility to the members of the church. We are able to pay for our rent, food, electricity & water bills – the practical needs of the church.

By giving we are able to cope the responsibility to the community. We are able to support other churches. My prayer and desire is that Siloam Church will be able to support its own missionary, own student pastor and needs of church planting.

By giving we are able to cope the responsibility to God. He commanded us to preach His Word and proclaim the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. I thank you because your giving gives us the mobility to advance the Gospel. This is our responsibility – The responsibility to worship in giving.

To do the work of God in the world should be the goal of the church. I praise God because spreading His Word, fellowshipping one another, observing communion and praying is our basic guide on the usage of tithes and offerings.
